Lynn was born on Long Island, New York, and grew up in the Northern Bay Area of California. As a young child, she enjoyed painting and drawing. Art provided an escape, where she could pretend a different world existed. Her father (Charles E. Kessel) encouraged her in this passion and taught her many skills. That different world became out of reach as a career in business took center stage. Art took a back seat for over 20 years.
Her passion for art resurfaced after living in Texas for 10 years. Lynn prefers watercolor and acrylic media, and she is inspired by emotion, relationships, nature and color. She has had her artwork accepted into various Juried Art Shows in the Hill Country, and her artwork was awarded the Georgetown Red Poppy Festival t-shirt design in 2006 and 2007. She continues to show and sell her artwork at local exhibits and festivals. She has a private studio above the Georgetown Art Center and is exploring new depths in her artwork.
Lynn obtained her Master's degree in Professional Counseling and is currently the Assistant Director of Mental Health Services and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor at Williamson County Juvenile Services. She incorporates art into her therapy and gives her clients a creative way to express themselves, offering that same escape she experienced as a young child.
